“I think most trainers struggle with providing gastric support along with adequate energy rich feed sources for high level competition horses. Travel, exposure to unfamiliar venues and constant assaults on the immune system are, unfortunately, unavoidable facets of today’s show horse. In my discipline (dressage) a relaxed horse able to stay focused is also a necessity.

I have found Prime by Next Wave to be an invaluable help in managing these issues. I love it for several reasons. It delivers fat which provides my horses with energy that lasts and their coats look beautiful. But the really unique aspect of Prime is the way it maintains my horses’ gut health. I am particularly concerned about ulcers in both the stomach and hind gut and this is the only product I know of that simultaneously addresses the need for energy and GI tract protection without negatively affecting nutrient absorption. And finally I LOVE that it is a liquid. Most of my horses readily eat it but if I have a horse traveling or one that I am concerned about making sure they consume the proper amount I can just dose it to them in an oral syringe. Takes the guess work out of feeding a picky eater.
